Q. Does RustGuy® Rust Converter remove rust?

1. Sanblasting, Scraping, Grinding or the Wire Wheel: Here is where you shoot sand particles through a gun to rip away layers of metal getting down to bare metal. The result: Sand gets everywhere and into everything. You remove some but not all of the rust, go down to bare metal (which rust can come right back ovenight, if you do not move quickly) and deform the metal surface. This method does NOT work.
2. Acid Rust Remover Treatments: Here you use an acid, the most popular being muriatic acid or jellied rust removers. The result: These acidic products are not only harmful but downright dangerous to you and your environment. Sadly, acids start working on rust but then run-out-of-gas leaving rusted surfaces behind. This is an ironic compromise because you are using dangerous substances that are more harmful to YOU than the RUST! This method will leave a surface that is still not completely free from rust. 3. Rust Paint to Coat the Rusted Surface: Here is where you coat or paint a surface that is rusted. The result: Rust oxidation is much stronger than paint. We purposely make RustGuy® Rust Converter thin in consistency so it will penetrate every crevice of the rust. Q. Will RustGuy® Rust Converter work on galvanized surfaces?
A. Yes! Our formula will work on ANY rusted metal surface including galvanized.
Q. What will RustGuy® Rust Converter if it comes in contact with "good paint" meaning no rust is present?
A. Unlike sandblasting, using acids or other rust removal methods, Our formula will NOT harm painted surfaces, rubber, electrical wiring, fuel lines, braking components or any other surface. Over these surfaces, it will dry like a clear primer.
Q. Does RustGuy® Rust Converter come in different colors?
A. No. This product is NOT paint. It does not coat a surface like paint but chemically reacts with the rusted surface to stop the oxidation. As part of the reaction, the rusted surface will get darker but more important than the color change, the rusted surface gets rock hard and silky smooth.
Q. Once I apply this product, can the surface be filled and painted?
A. Absolutely. RustGuy® Rust Converter will stop the rust permanently. Q. We have dump trucks that haul very heavy loads like bricks, logs, cinder blocks and chunks of cement. It's hard time to keep the beds painted because they keep getting scraped and scratched. Worse is that the scratches expose the bare metal underneath so we are contstantly fighting rust. What do you suggest for this?

Q. Do you send samples? If not, what is the smallest quantity I can buy?
A. We do NOT send samples. The smallest quantity available to purchase is a 20 oz. aerosol spray can that covers approximately 50 sq. feet. The smallest liquid quantity available is one (1) gallon that covers approximately 350 sq. feet in a spray application and up to 500 sq. feet in a brush or roller application.
